Symosium: The woman as mediator

Symposium 2012: The woman as mediator

Dear Madam / Sir,

I am sending you this letter on behalf of the Boldog Terézia Katolikus Egyetemi Feminine Studies Szakkollégium (Blessed Theresia Catholic Feminine Studies Students’ Hostel) in Debrecen, Hungary. Our institution offers a feminine studies formation for 60 university based women belonging to various Christian communities that is unique in Hungary and in the Catholic Church.

This year’s annual conference, entitled The Woman as Mediator, was the culmination of a two-semester program. Organized in collaboration with the first Hungarian Reformed Roma Students’ Hostel and the Reformed Theological College, the conference united over 150 participants with 15 speakers and presenters.

Held between the 13 and 15 April, 2012, the 5thCarpathian-Basin-wide Feminine Symposium brought together participants from Romania, Ukraine, Slovakia, Serbia, Slovenia, and Hungary. While stressing orientation, formation, and networking, our overarching goal is to provide spiritual, scientific, and social tools to help individual women assume leadership roles in their respective communities.

We are looking for sponsors to help cover the publication costs for the summary reference book ( HUF 1 million - approx 3300 euro). While conference organizers as well as speakers are non remunerated, we rely on sponsors to support this follow on publication that leverages the information to a wider audience. We appreciate your pledge of any amount and welcome your suggestions of organizations or individuals who might also be willing to assist us in this vital undertaking.

Please see the information on our work from our website and the attached material.
